Synopsis
Freshly back in the film industry after a decade of baking bread, I was eager to make work rooted in a world I knew intimately — and few people embody that world like Nick Beitcher.
Nick, former head baker at Tartine, founded Midnight Bagel — a San Francisco artisan bagel business built on the same obsessive craft that defines the city's best bakeries. We knew each other from my years in the baking world, and he brought me on to create promotional content for the business.
Along the way, I did some shooting around the city to capture the baking life of the Mission — its witching-hour warriors, the bakers at places like Dianda's and Jelly Donut putting in the overnight hours most people never see.
